EAA Chapter 811 is organizing a picnic at Ovid airport.
If you've never been to the Ovid airport, it's the perfect spot for a fly (and drive)-in party; nice runway, good grassy area and our friendly hosts, the Kings.
We will bring some meat and buns and if you could bring a dish to pass, (salads, beans, chips and typical picnic fare) would be great. I have soft drinks unopened from Rick’s picnic. If you have a favorite you want to be sure is covered, feel free to bring it.
If you fly in, please watch for other planes, use 122.8 - here's the info: http://www.airnav.com/airport/D82. Ovid is a skydiving operation, so look and listen.
Driving? Ovid airport is easy to find and a nice drive – Just head out of the west side of Ithaca going toward Ovid (Rochester) on RT 96. After around 30 minutes - turn left on County Road 139 west at the Happy Landing gas station. Keep going straight as you transition to Parish road (don't stay on 139 as it curves to the right). You will see the runway on your left - head slowly up the drive and you're there!
