Mike Brown, EAA Chapter 811 Vice-President, has the following message about the February chapter meeting:
The February meeting of EAA Chapter 811, which will be held at the CFR (Crash/Fire/Rescue) Building will be held at the Ithaca Airport on Tuesday, February 26th. We’ll gather for snacks around 6:30, and the presentation will start at 7:00. Just to be clear, the CFR building is across the parking lot from the administration building. If you come in on Brown Road from Route 13, it’s the first one on the right. If you come in off Warren Road, go past the terminal, the East Hill Flying Club, the FBO and the admin building, and it’s the last one on the left.
I will be talking about the Sun’n Fun International Fly-in, which will be taking place for the 45th time between April 2-7th this year in Lakeland, Florida (Lakeland Linder Airport KLFL). Sun’n Fun is the second-largest fly-in in the US, after the Oshkosh AirVenture, with several hundred thousand attendees over the week-long show. There are daily airshows (including two night shows), as well as static displays of warbirds, homebuilt, classic and vintage aircraft. I’m one of a relatively small group of Official Photographers for the event, and as such I get to be in sweet places for the best views at the right times - so, of course, I’ll have lots of pictures to share.
Also, we’ll be setting up our calendar for 2019 at the meeting - if you have any ideas of things we can do this year, bring them along. This is your chance to have some input on the Chapter’s activities for the year.
