Today, Glenn Cobb, Dan Asselin, and Mike Thomas brought back our Mooney from Batavia. It spent the last week there and now has a new Garmin GTX345 transponder. Astute readers will note that this is the same model transponder we installed in Skyhawk N97266 last month.
This transponder supports both ADS-B in and out, which means pilots will receive traffic alerts on the Garmin GNS430W, the Aspen EFIS, and if the pilot paired their iPad with the GTX345 via Bluetooth, on their iPad app such as ForeFlight or Garmin Pilot. NEXRAD weather is also delivered via ADS-B, and can be viewed on the GNS430W or a paired iPad with a compatible app.
